Co-ordination of Services
The Strategy is used to co-ordinate local service delivery. This is achieved by the requirement that all public bodies operating in the city are expected to ensure their operational plans and projects are in accordance with the Strategy. This is called "proofing".
However "Preparing the Ground" requires this co-ordination to begin immediately. This will impact on the organisations represented on the Board, other public service providers and all bodies receiving public funding. This co-ordination of service delivery will be underpinned by an Audit of Service Provision.
As part of this process, the National Plan envisages public agencies eventually using the same areas for delivery of services e.g., Cork City and designated sub-areas, and a single agency designated for delivery of specific components of local development in any one area. This will provide clarity and transparency in the delivery of services.
