Commonground Development Group

Commonground aims to create a civic space in which quality voluntary sector services in Cork will be enhanced!

The development group is a partnership between Cork City Council, the Health Services Executive – Southern Region, the Sexual Health Centre, the Disability Federation of Ireland and The Social and Health Education Project.

Cork City Council has provided two floors of the fire station building in Anglesea Street due to become vacant in 2007.

Commonground will therefore provide a central location where interaction within the voluntary sector and between the statutory and voluntary sector can be augmented to mutual benefit.

High profile, well-resourced, accessible accommodation will enhance the capacity of the sector to provide quality services and access to resources and central meeting spaces for both the voluntary and the community sector will also be provided.

The group has produced a business plan and brochure. Updates will be available on this site.
